CHEESY PIZZA TWIST

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 puff pastry sheets
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices shaved ham (optional)
  • Olive oil
  • Poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional garnish)
 
All ingredients available from Brickworks Ferry Rd.

STEP 1: Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Line a baking tray with baking paper and defrost 2 sheets of puff pastry leaving the film on.
 
STEP 2: On one sheet of puff pastry spread tomato paste evenly to the edges, and sprinkle on mozzarella cheese.
 
STEP 3: Layer ham.

STEP 4: Evenly line up and firmly place remaining puff pastry sheet on top, film side up. Remove film.

 STEP 5: With a sharp knife, cut the puff pastry into 4 quarters (squares), then cut into even strips.

 STEP 6: Twist the strip to resemble a rope and place on lined baking tray, repeat until all strips are evenly spread over the tray leaving some space in between each one for the cheese to melt.
 
STEP 7: Spray or brush with olive oil, sprinkle optional seeds on and bake in the oven for 15-20mins or until golden and puffy.
